A man has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out in Woodford Green.

Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to a blaze in Crossway, today (Friday, November, 23).

A kitchen and a conservatory in a semi-detached house was destroyed by the fire.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said: “A man suffering slight burns to his hands was treated at the scene by London Ambulance Service crews and taken to hospital.

“The brigade was called at 1.20pm and the fire was under control by 2.44pm.

“Fire crews from Woodford, Chingford and Ilford fire stations attended the scene.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
