A man was rushed to hospital in a critical condition after being stabbed in the throat in Ilford this morning (April 22).

Officers were called by London Ambulance Service (LAS) to reports of a man stabbed on High Road, at 3am.

They found a man in his 40s who had sustained an injury to the throat.

Paramedics took him to an east London hospital where his condition was initially deemed critical but is now believed to be non-life threatening.

The injured man’s family have been notified and no arrests have been made at this time.

Enquiries continue as officers from East Area Command investigate.

Road closures put in place in both directions on Cranbrook Road, at the junction with Ilford Road and High Road, were removed by 10.30am.
