Man remains in hospital after being hit by train at Wanstead Tube station

A man, who was struck by a train at Wanstead Tube station on Saturday, is still being treated in hospital.

British Transport Police (BTP) officers were called to the Central Line station, in Harrier Avenue, at 8.45am, after reports of a person being hit by a tube.

Emergency services attended, with the Air Ambulance landing on George Green, and the man was flown to hospital where he remains.

A BTP spokeswoman said: “The incident is currently being treated as non-suspicious.”

The station was closed for two hours.
