Emergency services were called to a road crash in Clayhall last night.
Three ambulance crews along with fire engines from Hainault and Hornchurch fire stations attended the incident, which happened in Clayhall Avenue at about 6.45pm.
It is believed the crash involved three vehicles. Police said one of the cars – a white BMW – had to be cut open so its passenger could be removed safely.
Paramedics treated three people, one of whom - a man believed to be in his 40s - was taken to Whipps Cross Hospital, Leytonstone, with back pain.
