A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital as a priority after a road traffic collision in Woodford Avenue this morning.

The man was being treated at the side of the northbound carriageway near to Gants Hill underground station at around 7.45am.

A motorcycle was still in the road next to him and traffic was moving along the adjacent lane.

A London Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics were called to the scene at 7.25am and were treating him for back pain.

He was immobilised using a collar and a board and taken to Whipps Cross University Hospital.
