Man dies after being struck by a train at Chadwell Heath station

It has been confirmed by emergency services that the person who died after being struck by a train at Chadwell Heath station yesterday was a 41-year-old man.

Chadwell Heath station was closed for more than two hours yesterday afternoon but reopened shortly after 4pm.

A British Transport Police spokeswoman said: “We were called at 1.20pm to reports of a 41-year-old man having been struck by a train at Chadwell Heath railway station.

“Officers attended along with the ambulance service.

“Sadly he died at the scene.”

BTP officers are still working to identify the person and notify their next of kin, but the death is not being treated as suspicious.
