A 55-year-old man died due to head injuries sustained in a road traffic collision on Tuesday morning, a post-mortem has revealed.

A 55-year-old man died due to head injuries sustained in a road traffic collision on Tuesday morning, a post-mortem has revealed.

The man, believed to be the driver, was pronounced dead at the scene on Forest Road, Hainault, following reports of a collision at 4.33am.

A post-mortem examination took place in East Ham Mortuary today (11) and gave the cause of death as head injuries.

Officers attending found a lorry had been in collision with a Renault saloon car.

London Ambulance Service and London Fire Brigade also attended the scene.

There were no reports of any other injuries.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification will take place in due course.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit investigate. No arrests have been made.
