A “popular” doctor has been rewarded for his work to improve patient experiences with an award.

Dr Chidi Okorie, of Loxford Polyclinic, Ilford Lane, Ilford, was recognised in the patient focus category at Redbridge Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) first annual awards on Thursday.

Former Redbridge mayor Filly Maravala presented the GP, who is also clinical director at the CCG, with the award yesterday at the surgery.

Dr Chidi Okorie said: “Putting patients at the heart of our services is something I am passionate about and I feel honoured to have won this award.

“I know that there are so many of my colleagues who work really hard to deliver outstanding patient care and I’m pleased that the CCG is taking the time to highlight the work that we do.

“I also am very grateful for our patient participation group and our patients at large, who have been very supportive of us in everything we do at the surgery.”
