Lorry driver pleads guilty to causing Ilford pensioner death by dangerous driving

A lorry driver has pleaded guilty to causing the death of an Ilford pensioner by dangerous driving on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing.
Anton Maizen, 58, made the plea at Basildon Crown Court yesterday (July 25) and will be sentenced at the same court on August 30. Ronald Moughton, 79, was killed on April 2 this year.
Maizen, from Wixhausen in Germany, pleaded guilty to three driving offences during a plea and case management hearing
He also pleaded guilty to two counts of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Mr Moughton died at the scene which saw the clockwise motorway approaching the Dartford bridge closed at junction 30 near Lakeside shopping centre for nine hours.
The crash involved four lorries and six cars.
Maizen was arrested at the scene and has been remanded in custody since.
