A Woodford Green runner who is famous for tackling the marathon in a green telephone costume will be hoping to complete his half century in London.

On April 22, Dave Lock will be hoping to complete his 50th marathon, and his 20th in his green Samaritans telephone outfit.

To mark the occasion, Dave has updated his costume, but is hoping the extra weight won’t falter his sprint to the finish line in record time.

He said: “I had my costume refilled as the foam had gone all saggy, so it’s now more stable.”

“Before, the receiver on the phone was pushing my head down, so I had to run like an ostrich by pushing my head forward.

“It might be my 20th marathon in London, but I still love taking part as much as the first time I ran. It always feels like the whole of London is cheering you on.”
