The sound of Gloria Gaynor’s I Will Survive bellowed down High Road, Ilford, as a brass band played in protest against cuts on Thursday.
Youngsters of the Redbridge Music Service attracted a large crowd before the council budget meeting started.
However, despite the efforts of Service users, those playing and those holding placards, the council agreed to make cuts of about £18,000 to the group.
