Anti-social behaviour reports are on the up in Seven Kings, Goodmayes and Chadwell Heath, according to a council report.
Redbridge Council’s Anti-Social Behaviour Service received 715 calls from residents in the last financial year, compared to 708 in 2011/12.
The report was for last week’s area committee five meeting at Barley Lane Primary School, Huxley Drive, Chadwell Heath.
Most reports were from Chadwell ward, where top complaints were loud music, noisy neighbours and building work.
In Goodmayes, barking dogs and groups of young people were common issues and deafening DIY was among problems in Seven Kings.
Digital Audio Tape (DAT) machines are used to monitor sound levels but Cllr Barbara White worried that noisy residents see officers entering neighbours’ homes with the machines and keep the noise down until they are gone.
Cllr Bob Littlewood paid tribute to the work of the noise team, adding: “They are under-staffed and I can tell there’s a lot of frustration because there are not enough people working there to deal with all the problems.”
