A 33-year-old man has been charged in connection with an armed siege on a house in Ilford on Wednesday.
Marza Khan, of Hamilton Road, Ilford, was arrested on the M1 heading towards Northamptonshire at around 3pm, four hours after police were called to a domestic incident in a home in Holmwood Road, Ilford.
Police said a person was later stopped on the corner of Cobham Road and Asher Road and a shot was fired at them.
Armed police and a helicopter swooped on the home, but the suspect appeared to have eluded police.
Khan will appear at London’s Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court today charged with using a firearm to resist arrest.
