CCTV cameras and improved lighting could be used to stop “blatant drug dealing” in Goodmayes.
Resident Faisal Islam said told Redbridge Council’s area committee five he regularly sees deals on the corner of Hazeldene Road and Abbotsford Road.
“People park up and they don’t even bother to make an effort to hide it anymore,” he added.
Speaking at the meeting at Barley Lane Primary School, Huxley Drive, Cllr Ali Hai said he had seen illegal activity himself there while patrolling with the police.
He added: “If it’s going on while we’re there I’m sure it’s even more prevalent when we’re not.”
