The levels of burglary, robbery and motor vehicle theft in Clementswood ward have all decreased compared to the same period last year, according to one sergeant.
Speaking at last week’s area six committee meeting in Uphall Primary School, Uphall Road, Sgt Jake Sutton, head of Clementswood Safer Neighbourhood Team, said reductions had been made compared to last year. Burglary decreased by 50 percent compared to April last year and robbery by 10 per cent.
Motor vehicle crime also went down by just over 40 per cent.
Mr Sutton said: “If people don’t feel safe walking down the street then we are not doing out jobs properly.
“If we see people drinking in the town centre they are dealt with robustly.”
