An Ilford shop will find out next week if it can start selling alcohol.
Owners of the Aruljanee Market, in Green Lane, have applied to Redbridge Council to be able to sell alcohol from 7am to 11pm from Monday to Friday, and from 8am on Saturdays, and 9am to 9pm on Sundays.
The police have recommended refusal of the plans as it is in the Ilford Cumulative Impact Zone and the “applicant has not detailed sufficiently how they plan to promote and meet the licensing objectives”.
The application is due to be considered by the council’s licensing sub-committee on Tuesday at Redbridge Town Hall, in High Road.
