“There will be an accident” is the conclusion of one woman who struggles to leave her house due to the number of cars around school turnout time.
Valerie Bishop said parents picking up their children from Woodlands Junior and Infants schools in Loxford Lane, Ilford clog up roads each morning and afternoon.
Mrs Bishop said: “There will be an accident: I have been talking about it for years. At home time Oxford Road, Staines Road and Eton Road are packed with cars which are doubled banked.”
Speaking at last week’s meeting of area committee six, she said double yellow lines are needed, especially on the corners, so that it is safer adding that a child could be knocked over as visibility is poor due to sheer weight of traffic.
Mrs Bishop said: “They are all trying to get down there, it’s awful.”
