A 24-year-old woman from Ilford is in a stable condition in hospital after being struck by an Underground train this morning.
The woman was injured after being hit by a westbound Hammersmith & City line train at Mile End Tube station.
British Transport Police [BTP] officers and paramedics attended the scene at 5.58am and the incident is being treated as non-suspicious.
A BTP spokesman said: “The woman was taken to the Royal London hospital [in Whitechapel], where she remains in a stable condition.”
The line was handed back to London Underground at 6.34am and there were severe delays for early morning commuters.
