£150,000 facelift set for Nightingale Green in Wanstead

Nightingale Green is set to get a bit of a facelift with new lighting and paving costing £150,000.

The green, in Nightingale Lane, Wanstead, has been given the money by Transport for London to upgrade the area around the shopping parade and work is expected to be completed by March 2014.

Plans also include putting double yellow lines at the corner of Nightingale Lane at the junction with Eastway.

The pavement surrounding the green will all be renewed as will that in front of the parade of shops in Eastway together with the installation of seven new lampposts.

The plans were discussed at the area committee one meeting held on Monday in Wanstead Church School, Church Path.
