Police and emergency services are at the scene of a light aircraft which crashed into a field in Chigwell this morning.

The aircraft came down before 10.20am and the East of England Ambulance Service have sent a Hazardous Area Response Team, an ambulance crew and a rapid response vehicle to the incident which happened in a field off Gravel Lane, Chigwell.

It is not yet known how many people were on board, number of casualties or where the plane was flying to or from.

Police are urging people not to attend the scene.
