A school has raised thousands of pounds for its charity of the year.

Students from King Solomon High School, Forest Road, Barkingside, have been holding a series of fundraising events for Hopes and Dreams, a charity which makes terminally ill children’s dreams come true.

Ruth Salahi, chairwoman of the charity said: “It is very touching that pupils have gone to so much effort for us and we really do appreciate everything they have done.”

From cake sales to “be quiet” days, pupils have been doing their best to help to help.

Students were able to make more than £2,000 which will go towards a boy who suffers with cerebral palsy, and his dream of visiting New York.

Ruth said: “They have done so much to help and I have nothing to say apart from thank you.”
