A school has announced it is partnering up with a Redbridge charity for terminally ill children.
King Solomon High, Forest Road, Barkingside, will help charity Hopes and Dreams raise cash over the next 12 months so terminally ill children can realise their ambitions.
The charity organises anything from celebrity visits to swimming with dolphins.
“We are over the moon to be in a partnership with King Solomon,” said Ruth Salahi, Hopes and Dreams chairman.
“We have never been in a partnership with a school for the whole year before.”
Mrs Salahi said initiatives like this keep the charity afloat.
“We are one of the few charities that does not pay ourselves expenses or wages,” she said.
“Any additional costs will come out of the proceeds from our fundraising events.”
Mrs Salahi runs the charity from her Somersby Gardens home.
Hopes and Dreams has been running for 21 years and is working on as many as 30 dreams for different children.
The partnership announcement was made on Monday at a special assembly at the school – attended by Redbridge Mayor Cllr Felicity Banks and Deputy Mayor Cllr Tania Solomon.
