Patients are being recruited as “mystery shoppers” to ensure the improvement of services at King George Hospital, Goodmayes.

Those wishing to participate will be given training, as part of the initiative by Barking, Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust (BHRUT), which also runs Queen’s in Romford - where the project will also run.

The scheme will be open to inpatients, day cases, outpatients, and anyone receiving care from the hospitals’ community teams.

Trust deputy chief nurse Gary Etheridge said: “We are very proud of the recent developments we have made in our patients’ experience, and this is another example of how we are actively listening to ensure patients receive the high quality care they deserve.

“The mystery shoppers initiative will allow us to see our services through our patients’ eyes.”
