Martin Goodman is all smiles as he shares a cup of tea with Cllr Dev Sharman, during the launch of his new venture Clayhall Park Ice-Cream and Tea Parlour.
The 67-year-old owner of Goodies Ices Ltd, who has sold ice-cream inside Clayhall Park for 28 years, entertained thirty councillors and friends, before the official opening last week.
The modern eatery will sell twelve different flavours of ice-cream, coffees, afternoon teas, scones, paninis and soft drinks.
The Clayhall Park Ice-Cream and Tea Parlour is not the first restaurant opened by Martin Goodman and his wife Lorraine, who have vast experience in the restaurant business.
But the businessman revealed his motive for opening the tea parlour is to bring the community together.
Mr Goodman said: “Clayhall Park is an upmarket area where Jews, Asians and other nationalities live together peacefully. I wanted to open a business which would be a hub for the community, where locals can sit, relax, eat, drink and talk.”
