Jobs are at risk at the two Redbridge Clinton Cards stores, after the retailer went into administration today.
It says two of its banks sold �35million of loans to supplier American Greetings, which has called for repayments it cannot meet.
It means jobs at the Clinton Cards store inside Exchange Ilford, High Road and in High Street, Barkingside, could be lost if no buyers for the company are found.
If a buyer does come forward, it is feared some of the about 620 Clinton Cards stores across the UK may still have to close.
Clinton Cards also runs about 140 Birthdays stores.
