Community members can have they say on creating a working definition of Islamophobia at a meeting with senior MPs, police officers and councillors in Hainault.
Ilford North MP West Streeting, who co-chairs the all-party parliamentary group (APPG) on British Muslims, is hosting the last in a series of community consultations at Garden of Peace, in Elmbridge Road, on Monday (September 17) from 6 to 8pm.
The meeting aims to develop a working definition of Islamophobia and follows on from similar sessions in Manchester, Sheffield and Birmingham.
Among the speakers are Det Supt Shabnam Chaudhri, Labour Shadow Minister for Women and Equalities Naz Shah MP and Redbridge Council leader Jas Athwal.
Posting on Facebook, Mr Streeting said: “The final consultation is being held in London and I am honoured to host such an initiative in my own constituency.
APPGs are informal groupings of politicians from all political parties with no official status within Parliament.
