Neighbours of two streets came together to show their love for the community by holding a litter pick-up.

The eighteen residents of Valentines Road and Park Avenue in Ilford, christened “Cupid’s Cleaners”, worked on their streets for an hour and collected 13 bags of litter.

Homemade cakes and cups of tea were enjoyed by all, including Cllr Ross Hatfull, who participated in the event.

Cllr Hatfull said: “I am delighted to support and encourage these initiatives which help keep Redbridge tidy.

“It is great to bring the community together to show they are proud of the area where they live, inspire more local residents to take personality responsibility to keep their neighbourhood clean, and get the message across that littering is not acceptable in this borough.”

With the aid of street tidying charity CleanupUK, the group hope to continue their good work in the future.
