Ilford town centre pub closes again after reopening last summer

A town centre pub has been closed again despite only reopening last Summer.

The General Havelock, High Road, Ilford has now had all windows and doors covered by metal panels in the last week, though it has not been made clear when the pub closed.

A licence to serve alcohol was granted in June 2011 amid opposition from nearby residents.

The Scottish and Newscastle Pub Company, which owns the pub, claimed they expect “new tenants” in the near future, though refused to comment on why The General Havelock closed.
