Mental health advocate and YouTube sensation, Hussain Manawer returned to the scene of his space trip winning poetry performance on Saturday.

Hussain, 24, was joined by Oscar-winning actress Cher at the One Young World Summit in Ottawa, Canada along with Harry Potter actress, Emma Watson and the Canadian prime minster, Justin Trudeau.

Hussain, whose father owns the Masala Hut restaurant in Ley Street, Ilford, performed his piece Mother Tongue in front of a 1,300 strong crowd that represented more than 100 countries,

He rhymed: “I went to war without recruiting an army. I stared at the enemy with two feet strong. I approached the front line like nothing would harm me and that my friends is where I went wrong.”

The wordsmith encouraged people suffering from depression and mental health to reach out for help and on the global population to come together and tackle the universal issue.

He called the event “incredible”.
