It is not often children help put smiles on the faces of our senior community members.
But that is exactly what pupils of Isaac Newton Academy School on Tuesday.
More than 40 Ilford residents were treated to a music and dance performance as part of a festive celebration put on by Years 7, 8 and 9 from the school in Cricklefield Place, Ilford.
Rachel Macfarlane, the academy’s principal, said: “The community party is an excellent opportunity for our students to give something back.
“It is an occasion when students and staff work together as a team to host an event that puts a smile on the faces of elderly residents of Ilford and lifts the spirits of everyone involved.”
