An independent school in Ilford is teaching sixth-form students for the first time.
Cranbrook School, in Mansfield Road, officially opened its first sixth-form for 16 to 19-year-olds yesterday (Wednesday).
The A-Level curriculum focuses on “core subjects” including English, maths and sciences.
Headteacher Ivan Mulinder said the opening marked a “milestone” in the school’s history.
He added: “Staff responsible for teaching the sixth form curriculum are all highly experienced A Level teachers and we are confident that Cranbrook’s outstanding track record at GCSE level will be replicated by the A level cohorts of the future.”
Cranbrook School was founded in 1896 and is now run by Cognita Schools.
