Roof repairs and installing anti-pigeon measures are taking place at a pub in Ilford while everyone is “partied out” after Christmas.
The Cauliflower pub in High Road has been closed since New Year’s Day but the manager said it should be open within a couple of weeks.
Raj Basi, manager of the pub, said: “We have a roof that we need to tidy up so we are going to get that done and then reopen. It’s quite shabby at the top. We want to remove the netting and put pigeon spikes on the building.”
The work should take a week but due to its height will be dependent on the weather. Mr Basi said: “Weather permitting are the key words. We are giving ourselves January to do it as it’s the quietest time and people have partied out around Christmas.”
