An employee at an Ilford pawnbroker has raised £600 for a children’s charity by having her head shaved.
Staff and customers at Cash Converters, in Cranbrook Road, Ilford, gave £600 in sponsorship to Amanda Street ahead of the fundraising day last month.
Her colleagues also dressed up as their favourite film characters to support Dreams Come True.
Amanda said: “I have to admit I was a bit nervous about shaving off all my hair, but I wanted to do something daring and a bit different to get the attention of our customers and raise as much money as possible.”
She added that the new haircut has been “cooler” in the hot weather.
It is not the first fundraiser for Amanda, who had “Dreams Come True” tatooed on her arm two years ago.
The charity raises dream trips and days out for terminally ill children and their families.
Cash Converters has raised more than £150,000 for Dreams Come True since 2007 with funds from branches across the country.
