Packed houses at two performances enjoyed a special concert last Saturday with a range of classic hits.
St Peter’s Church Halls, in Aldborough Hatch, Newbury Park hosted Ilford Operatic and Dramatic Society’s “Thank You For The Music” containing well-known songs from shows including West Side Story, songs by Abba, sketches and solo comedy items.
Many enjoyed Joyce Grenfell’s Movement to Music, the Stanley Holloway monologue Albert and the Lion, whilst Angel Chimes featured a group of schoolchildren playing tubular bells.
Churchwarden Chris Kerrison said: “This was an evening of music, fun and laughter, much enjoyed by all.
“In addition the two performances raised much needed funds for both the church and the Ilford Operatic and Dramatic Society.”
