A man from Ilford was one of 15 arrested in dawn raids across London in the early hours of this morning.

The 15 men were arrested across seven different boroughs on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of drugs and have been taken into custody at various police stations.

Greenwich Borough’s Violent and Organised Crime Unit and Proactive Disruption Team were supported by officers from the Met’s Trident and Area Crime Command and Territorial Support Group (TSG) in carrying out a number of search warrants at addresses across London.

The arrest operation was the result of months of hard work by Greenwich Borough officers and other units, and is part of a wider operation which continues to target drugs dealers and their networks involved in Class A drug distribution in London and across the south of England.

This wider operation has included the seizure over recent months of assets including motor vehicles, in excess of £30,000 in cash and other property including high value clothing.

Nine of the other arrests this morning were made in Woolwich; one in Charlton, one in Greenwich, one in Forest Gate, Newham; one in Bexleyheath, Bexley; and on in Annerley, Bromley.
