A 51-year-old man has pleaded not guilty of attempted murder after a woman was stabbed.

Manjit Singh Mirgind, of Mayfair Avenue, stands accused of attempted murder and intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Today, at Snaresbrook Crown Court, he pleaded not guilty to both charges arising from the incident that happened last December.

Mirgind will return to the court for a pre-trial review on May 9.
