A new three-storey block of flats will be built in Ilford Lane, Ilford, after the application was approved by Redbridge Council’s regulatory committee on Wednesday.
Members of the committee visited the site at the junction of Ilford Lane and Mayville Road on April 14.
The development, submitted by Eastleigh Limited, will include a basement car park and three ground floor retail units.
Regulatory committee chairman Cllr Richard Hoskins said: “Our main concern was congestion in Ilford Lane but a loading bay will be positioned in a separate street and there will be off-street parking for a minimum of ten cars which we hope will help alleviate the situation.
“The design is attractive and the committee also made a note that there will be a minimum of three retail units and not one big shop.”
