A hospital chapel dating back to the 1100s is holding an open day today with free guided tours of the former hospice.
The Hospital Chapel of St Mary the Virgin and St Thomas of Canterbury in Ilford Hill, Ilford will welcome visitors to look around the historic building from 10am-2.30pm.
On offer during the open day will be stalls selling cards, and crafts as well as bric-a-brac.
The Grade II listed building is believed to be one of the oldest buildings in Redbridge and was founded in 1145.
It was originally a hospice for 13 elderly and infirm men by Adelicia, Abbess of Barking.
