History, music and language lessons made up a special week of activities to teach Sikh children about their heritage and culture.
This week the Guru Nanak Satsang Sabha Karamsar, High Road, Ilford held arts and crafts sessions, talks on Anglo-Sikh history and even a business workshop.
Organiser Satvinder Singh said: “They have enjoyed it. We had arts and crafts making things and costumes to teach them respect to their environment.”
About 120 children attended the school during the Easter break with classes held from 8am to 8pm.
Mr Singh said: “We hit it to make them aware of their cultura and sik values and generally make them good citizens. They have been good so we took them on a trip to a theme park on Friday.”
