Ilford choir mark 20th anniversary with summer concert

A choir will be marking its 20th anniversary with a performance at an Ilford church.

Valentines Singers will be performing at St Andrew’s Church, St Andrew’s Road, on July 21 at 7.30pm.

The 50-strong group has toured the venues of the borough from Valentines Mansion, in Cranbrook Road, to Fairlop Fair,

Choir member Kathleen Beaumont said: “This landmark celebratory concert is the culmination of 20 years of challenge, enthusiasm and beautiful music-making, featuring choral works by Bach, Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Mendelssohn, Brahms, Walton, Elgar, Stravinsky, Britten and Bernstein.”

The group was based Barkingside for 18 years before moving to Seven Kings High School, Ley Street.
