An Ilford care provider has received a damning report into its services from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Vanity Care, of Clements Road, failed to meet the required standard of care for four out of five categories which were scrutinised during a routine inspection.

A CQC spokesman said the agency needs to make improvements in staffing, caring for people safely and protecting them from harm, treating people with respect and involving them in their care and providing care and support that meets people’s needs.

But the provider met the standard for the quality and suitability of management.

The areas of concern were graded for how they affect people who use the services.

The issues of whether people are given appropriate care and whether safeguards are in place to protect people from abuse were rated as having a moderate impact. A minor impact is said to be caused by new staff not being appropriately checked and people’s views and experiences not being taken into account in relation to their care.

Vanity Care was not available for comment.
