“Amazed by the hospitality” was the conclusion of a group of Norwegian students after a trip to learn about different religions in Redbridge.

The students, from the Volda University College, came on a three day visit which ended on Friday.

They visited the Ilford Islamic Centre in Albert Road, Ilford on Wednesday of last week and attended a Quran study class for children.

On Friday the students visited the Guru Nanak Satsang Sabha Karamsar, High Road, Ilford and learned about the Sikh holy book, listened to hymns and enjoyed a meal at the temple’s kitchen.

Bill Gent, who organised the visit, said: “There are very few Sikhs in Norway but they went away with a very positive image. It went very well and they though it was very good, they were amazed by the hospitality.”
