The Mayor of Redbridge lit up Barkingside last night!

Hundreds of families packed Ken Aston Square as the Mayor of Redbridge switched on the Barkingside Christmas lights last night.

The cast of Aladdin - who will be performing at the Kenneth More Theatre in Ilford - were also there and took part in the festivities.

A huge 40ft tree was brought to life with lights, baubles and ornaments made by Barkingside Art Club Special Educational Needs Group.

Choirs from Fullwell Primary School, Glade Primary School and Mossford Green Primary School entertained with backing from Redbridge Music Lounge.

Mince pies and mulled wine were on offer to keep out the cold and funfair rides kept everyone on the move.

There were also some special performances from two illuminated roller skating Christmas presents - from the Cirq Delight.
