A person was hit by a train this morning at Romford station


There are severe delays on TfL Rail between Romford and Ilford after a person was hit by a train at Romford station this morning.

British Transport Police (BTP) were called to the station at 10.15am following reports of a person being struck by a train.

A BTP spokesman said: “Colleagues from Metropolitan Police Service and London Ambulance Service also attended and a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

“The person’s death is not being treated as suspicious and officers are now working to identify them and inform their family.”

A file will be prepared for the coroner.

Trains were previously suspended between Romford and Ilford.

Transport for London (TfL) have said tickets will be accepted on all reasonable Underground routes.
