Ilford teens accused of killing commuter appear in court

Two Ilford teenagers charged with murdering a commuter during rush hour at Stratford station in October last year will appear at the Old Bailey today.

A 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy allegedly kicked and punched John Francis Breen to death at the station in Newham, at 5.18pm on October 27.

The 53-year-old suffered fatal head injuries after the alleged assault and was rushed to hospital, but sadly died the following day.

The pair, both Romanian, are due in court today for a plea and case management hearing.

They are each charged with a single count of murder.

The trial date has been set for April 11.

The case is predicted to last three weeks.
