A Hainault woman will climb, run, wade and row 7.5km next month as part of a challenge to raise money for a Havering hospice.
Tina Cole, of Inverness Drive, is doing Saint Francis Hospice’s “Mud n Madness” challenge on February 9.
The mum-of-two will have to complete challenges including an assault course, river crossing, hill climb and run down “mud alley”.
She said: “I’ve never done anything like this before.
“I wanted to support the hospice because my uncle and neighbour died there in the same year. It was horrible.
“I’m hoping to raise £400 and I’ve got £150 so far.
“I’m exited about the challenge but I’m not competitive. It’s just a case of getting round the course.”
Saint Francis Hospice, based in Havering-atte-Bower, supports people with lift-limiting illnesses and their families.
It relies on charity donations to continue its work providing home visits, day care and in-patient care to people resident in Barking, Dagenham, Havering, and Brentwood.
