A woman has been taken to hospital after a fire broke out at a flat in Hainault.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) sent four fire engines and around 25 firefighters to the blaze in Lowe Close on Saturday, October 6.

Most of a ground floor flat was damaged by fire and one woman left the property before firefighters arrived.

She was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation before being taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service.

An LFB spokesman said: “The brigade was called at 9.25pm and the fire was under control at 10.19pm.

“Fire crews from Romford, Woodford, Ilford and Dagenham fire stations attended the scene.”

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
