Man hit by train at Goodmayes Station now in a critical but stable condition

A man hit by a train at Goodmayes Station on Tuesday is now in a critical but stable condition.

Paramedics and police were called to the station on July 31 at around 6.54am to reports of a person being struck by a train.

They found an injured man on the tracks.

He was taken to hospital in a life-threatening condition and where his is being treated for his injuries which have been deemed life-changing.

His condition is now critical but stable.

The man has been identified and his next of kin have been informed.

Goodmayes Station was closed temporarily but is now open until engineering works commence on August 5.

A British Transport Police (BTP) spokesman said: “The incident is being investigated but is not being treated as suspicious.”

He added: “It’s requested that any information about the incident is passed on to the BTP by contacting 0800405040 and quoting Log 70 of today.”
