Man arrested on suspicion of wielding knife and gun in Goodmayes

A man in his 20s has been arrested on suspicion of threatening another man with a knife and gun in Goodmayes.

Police were called to reports of a man threatening a another man with a knife on Barley Lane at around 3.44pm yesterday, July 25.

The suspect is alleged to have also shown the victim a firearm as well as smashing in the window of his vehicle.

The suspect was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray, criminal damage and possession of a firearm.

He remains in custody at an east London police station.

The victim did not sustain any injuries.

A road cordon was put in place yesterday near the King George Hospital entrance.

But all cordons in place have now been lifted.

Enquiries continue.
