Keen golfers chipped in to raise £5,001 for a special needs school at an annual fundraising tournament.

On Sunday 49 golfers teed off at the Woolston Manor Golf and Country Club, in Abridge Road, Chigwell.

They were raising money for equipment for Hatton Special School, in Roding Lane South, in Woodford Green.

The school provides support for children with autism and other disabilities.

Governor and event organiser Gulnawaz Yasin said: “I would like to thank everyone attending for their generosity and support.

“The competition sponsored by PC Foods was fun, challenging and very competitive.”

Mayur Halai won the fourth annual tournament and was presented with a trophy after a charity raffle, auction and buffet meal.
